August Goal Finished!

My August UFO / A Lovely Year of Finishes goal was to finish this long-neglected, 13 year old, block of the month club.  I had about half of them finished, and was able to finish up the rest of them much quicker than I expected.  Even so, it just isn't my style at all, and I'm not even sure what I'm going to do with them.  But they're DONE!  I even found some of the same white fabric at Jo Ann's fabric store, and bought 2 yards to hopefully get it made into either 1 big quilt, or a few smaller ones.

I also spent most of August making a quilt for my mom, who just paid us a visit.  I'll blog about that soon.

The summer has been busy for me and my boys, and even busier for my husband, who has been on 3 large fires now, 1 in Colorado, 1 in Southern Oregon, and 1 in Central / Eastern Oregon.

We have managed a few camping trips, and I'm hoping for 1 more :-).  I hope all of you have had a wonderful summer!!

  1. Those blocks do look a little wilted... but cheerful enough for gifts... The large flowers would make nice wall hangings, and the pinwheels would make a the start with some plain blocks and colorful sashing for a baby/lap quilt... etc.
The camping looks fun and your outer wear is stunning!!!! as all life jackets are (especially if you find yourself in the water... )

  3. Good to get those blocks done. A good donation quilt (top) if you just don't want to finish. Glad you've had a good summer!
