A Small Finish: Fabric Recycling Bin

First of all, thank you so much for all of the great sewing room organizing ideas!  Interior design is neither a strong area for me, or a major interest, so I need all the help I can get!

I've had very little sewing time this week, as I've been on a major cleaning binge.  One thing led to another, and somehow, the whole house became involved in a much overdue cleaning and organizing.  I've taken a few loads to local thrift shops too.

In the process, I uncovered my piano!  This had become the dumping ground of newspapers and office paper recycling, as well as other odds and ends.  I even found our new washing machine manual after 2 months of missing it!  I'm determined to not block this anymore, as I am with the entry closet, so I used a project in "Sunday Morning Quilts", by Amanda Jean Nyberg and Cheryl Arkison to make some larger recycling bins for these items so that they have a new and beautiful home.  They're not "scrappy", but made use of not only some fabric stash, but are a great way to use up larger batting scraps!

I'm linking up with Amanda Jean's Finish it Up Friday.  Come join us.  There's also a link to buy her book there! I also love Kit Lang's new piece at her blog.  She's hosting "Finish It Up Friday" Come check it out too!

The new table area is a bit cramped, but usable!  One major plus is the natural light and the view!!  I think this is going to work!

  6. You also linked up with TGIFF! ;) I have that book too and have been wanting to make those baskets. Yours are great!

When I re-organize my studio over the next couple of months, I'm going to make some in my new fabric choice.

  7. One of the things I like about having a basement.... all the clutter can go below stairs.... where only close friends and family are ever invited!!! Cute boxes.... too.
